We Need Each Other
In this piece I brought together two clays that, in nature, could not be more different. I asked them to communicate, to find common ground, and what I witnessed was a fascinating interplay between them. At times, they harmonized beautifully, but just as often, they repelled each other like oil and water. Riping at the seams while moving effortlessly in a never ending dance of contrasting movement.
The voice and narrative of these two clays demanded to be heard and witnessed, and in that instant, I realized that their story mirrored the essence of our shared human experience. As artists, we stand as mirrors, reflecting the world's complexities and contradictions, and it is in this reflection that we find connection and understanding. In the dialogue of these two clays, I unearthed a profound truth – we need each other.
